
If you are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes but do not think that the Reset Your Life lifestyle modification program is suitable for you, below are a number of other programs that are designed to prevent or delay the onset of the disease. Please talk to your GP if you are interested in any of these services.
Healthy Eating and Lifestyle Program (H.E.L.P.)
H.E.L.P. is a 6 week group program designed to help participants develop and maintain healthy eating changes, including increasing vegetables and fruit, wholegrain products and decreasing saturated fat, sugar and salt. Furthermore, the program teaches participants how to make healthy eating choices, whilst delving into self image, the myths on ‘‘quick fixes,’ and awareness and management of emotional eating. The program also encourages increased physical activity.
Do It for Life
Do It For Life is a State Government initiative that aims to reduce risk factors for people of working age (18+) at high risk of developing chronic diseases.
